Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can the bags we washed?
All of the sail material is washed prior to sewing and then the bags are washed after to remove any markings used in the creation and to remove extra threads. They are air dried but can safely be dried in low heat if needed.
2. What does 'Patina' on a bag mean?
The material is from old sails. Old sails can be dirty, have grass stains, bug stains, be worn, have chafing and small tears. Where appropriate these features have been built into the designs but only if they do not affect the wear and usefulness of the finished bag. If you want a more pristine looking bag do not choose one that has 'patina'.
3: Can there be appliqués that are not nautical?
Yes, some bags have other theme related appliqués such as horses, flowers, dogs etc. If you want a specific theme just ask. It must be simple enough to be cut out and stitched.
4: When I see an image of a bag but the inventory says 0, what does that mean?
Since the majority of the bags are one of a kind, they will show as one. When a bag shows as 0 inventory, but you like the bag you can request one to be made. It will never be exactly the same but can be close.
5: How long does a custom bag take to do?
I will make every effort to have a custom design to you within three weeks.
6: Do you ship to countries other than Canada?
If you are outside of Canada I can ship to your location but you will be responsible for any duties and brokerage. The shipping costs shown on the checkout page will not apply as they will be more. You will need to contact me to arrange shipping.
